About The 10k
The Enniskillen 10k is funded by Fermanagh District Council and organised in partnership with Enniskillen Rotary Club. It is an annual event which is now in it's ninth year. The event caters for everyone – from the serious runner to the fun runner, from the power walker to the casual walker.
There are regular water stations and markers of the distance you have covered throughout the course.
Aerial view of Lakeland Forum leisure centre and the Millenium
walk bridge where runners and walkers will have the finish line in
their sights as they cross over for the final 50m of the event.
The 10k starts at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum leisure centre and makes it way through Enniskillen town to the majestic Castle Coole estate owned and managed by the National Trust. It leaves the estate and goes around the Killyhevlin Industrial Estate where you reach the 7km stage. Well into the 7km stage there is the challenging “Ardhowen” hill which leads into the Derrychara area. You are now on the final 2km of the event making your way into Derrychara playing fields shortly after 9km. After making your way around the playing fields you cross the Millennium walk bridge over the river Erne to complete the 10k.
On completion everyone receives a medal and refreshments.
Enniskillen Rotary Club is involved in organising the event and in doing so, would like to encourage participants to use this opportunity to raise money for local charities. For more information on how to fund raise please visit the Rotary Club website.
